Summer in the City – Greens

Imagine a restaurant that serves only organic food and wine. You can arrive by car, bike, on foot or by boat. You can sit at leisure while the kids burn tons of energy in the play park next to the restaurant, or have them join you for a few tasty dishes. Utopia? No it’s called Greens and they recently opened their doors.

On May 30, 2018, Greens, a new restaurant with a garden in The Hague, was officially opened. Mayor Pauline Krikke symbolically harvested the first vegetables from the garden and brought them to the kitchen.

The restaurant offers delicious dishes, prepared with fresh vegetables, herbs, and flowers from the adjacent organic gardens, which are maintained by people who have trouble (re)entering the labor market for social and/or health reasons. Investment of the revenues from the restaurant into the gardens makes Greens an integrated concept.
