To accommodate the growing demand for student places, International School Utrecht opened an extension to the main building and a completely new wing this January. This extra space allowed the school to open six new classes, which means around 80 new students and their families could be welcomed into the school community.
The extension to the main building at the Van Bijnkershoeklaan houses five new primary classes and a primary music room. Whilst extending upon the main building, both the primary and early years playground got a make-over, while all the kindergarten classrooms now have a garden plot to grow their own flowers and vegetables and a proper greenhouse takes pride of place in front of the school.
The new wing provides the grades 10-12 students with a much-needed self-study area, as well as a small kitchen, extra subject classrooms, a new secondary music room, a practice studio and a design room.
The ISUtrecht started this school year by celebrating its 5th anniversary. The entire school community – students, staff and parents – celebrated together.
