Chef Niels Schavemaker is one of a rare breed; not only is he a real connoisseur of fine and rare wines, he is also a maniac for the freshest of fresh ingredients. These two themes come together in a cosy restaurant, with a view of the boats in the Scheveningen harbour, called Het Gouden Kalf. Here, everything revolves around fresh and seasonal products, a warm atmosphere and stunning wines.
By fresh, we really mean fresh, sourced that very day. Every morning, Niels starts by choosing the freshest and finest ingredients from his suppliers. For fish, he relies on what the Scheveningen fish market (known as visafslag) has to offer. These ingredients are the basis of the 5 and 7-course menu and the à la carte dishes that will fulfil your personal wishes.
